“Mystic Memoirs” seeks to do the impossible—bring the reader into unbelievable moments in these authors’ lives.
How does it feel to lose hours of your day without explanation? What happens when all of your senses take in information but the mind simply says No, not possible! In the moments before death claims you—and then releases you—what might you see?
The stories within are shared by the people who experienced the impossible in their own raw and remarkable words. Some of these journeys provided soulful reflections, while others left the storyteller in shock, searching for answers that never came.
Moments of mysticism, intuitive challenges and absolute horror are mixed with divine reasoning, growth and even humor.
From England to the U.S. cornfields, this collection of true stories shares just a tiny percentage of the truly remarkable experiences happening to everyday people all over the world each day.
Not all portals are mere figments of imagination. The concept, often dismissed as a facet of science fiction or a tool for magical realism, holds a deeper, more intriguing truth.
But what happens when you open a photo album and see a picture of your grandmother holding you on her hip, the smile on her face so bright it makes up for the fading colors? Why do we task our park districts with creating gardens filled with old-fashioned flowers for our elderly citizens?
Portals are real, and they are all around us.
While the stories in this anthology are fictional, more than a few have roots in the real world. Asking questions about our experiences invites a portal to manifest.
Was that the right choice? What would I say to my younger self? Did I really see that?
You know you want to write a novel, but are you any good at it? Do you find yourself second-guessing friends and family who offer feedback because, well, they're friends and family? Are there ways to test your story ideas or your creativity level? And if anything is off, how do you fix it?
The good news is that every soul has a story worth telling. It's in our DNA, as humans. We've been sharing stories since we gathered around the first fires and no one has the right to take that away from you. A good story, though, has a concrete mix of all the elements needed to grab a reader's attention and never let go until you've left them spent and exhausted after a grand adventure.
The first half of the book focuses on assessing what you're doing right, and more importantly, what needs some serious attention. The quizzes within these pages will let you know, once and for all, if you are hitting all the right marks for good storytelling.
A story can be told from many different points of view, and they each add a unique experience for the reader as well as the novelist.
Think about the Sixth Sense: What if the story had not been told from the point of view of the psychologist who didn't know he was dead? What if it had been from the child's POV, or the mother's?
Those would still have made a wonderful tale, but the story took us on one heck of a ride when we discovered the hidden truth.
And you've probably heard a million times that a story needs a beginning, middle and end?
But what exactly does that mean?
How can you tell if you have a full story or just an exciting event? What if you want to turn a single moment into a novel? It's doable, with a deep dive into knowing what you really want to say.

Tarot is not New Age. Tarot is Old Age. Ancient people of many cultures have used these symbols to explain the world around them for thousands of years. Tarot is not about divining the future but about accepting who you are in the present. Humans exist on four levels of consciousness: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Examining these levels with each card brings profound personal revelations and enlightenment on the journey through life.
Each image speaks to a deeper part of the psyche in a language without words but impacts the subconscious level. Every card represents part of the greater Self in the journey along life’s path, whether in the present, a past lesson learned, or a pattern that will repeat going forward.
This book is based on the Thoth (Crowley) Tarot deck, which can be as intimidating as it is rich in symbolic language, but it is not necessary to use that deck. The book can also benefit meditation without a deck by using the questions at the end of each card as a source for your journaling experience. Each page captures the essence of the archetypical language and speaks to the deeper unconscious self.
